On August 17, the Hamburg Metropolitan Region will become the stage for a cycling event full of firsts. For the first time in its history, the ADAC Cyclassics will start in Lower Saxony. Buxtehude and the district of Stade will host the peloton of the UCI WorldTour to kick off one of Germany’s most important one-day races.
Ten years after the first start outside of Hamburg – back then in Kiel – the race will once again begin beyond the Elbe metropolis. Buxtehude welcomes the world’s cycling elite. On the historic market square in the old town, all 161 riders will be officially presented during a team introduction ceremony. Around midday, the race will begin – marking the longest edition of the Cyclassics in the past five years.
