ADAC Cyclassics Hamburg 2026 present strong team field
18 UCI WorldTeams and four ProTeams announced – potential starters range from top sprinters to classics specialists
The organisers of ADAC Cyclassics Hamburg 2026 have unveiled the team field for the men’s elite UCI WorldTour one-day race on 16 August. According to the current overview, 18 UCI WorldTeams and four UCI ProTeams are set to line up for the race in Hamburg and the metropolitan region. The named rider line-ups remain provisional; the final rosters will be confirmed at a later date.
The field already promises a high-class race with an international line-up. Among those expected in Hamburg are Jasper Philipsen and Kaden Groves for Alpecin-Premier Tech, Phil Bauhaus and Matej Mohorič for Bahrain Victorious, Olav Kooij, Tiesj Benoot and Oliver Naesen for Decathlon CMA CGM Team, Jonathan Milan and Max Walscheid for Lidl-Trek, Arnaud De Lie for Lotto Intermarché, Biniam Girmay for NSN Cycling Team, Jordi Meeus and Laurence Pithie for Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe, Paul Magnier for Soudal Quick-Step, John Degenkolb for Team Picnic PostNL, Søren Wærenskjold for Uno-X Mobility, Sam Bennett for Pinarello-Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team as well as Matteo Trentin and Marc Hirschi for Tudor Pro Cycling Team.
The riders named already point to an open race in which fast sprinters, resilient classics specialists and attacking breakaway groups could all play a decisive role. It is precisely this mix that defines the character of the ADAC Cyclassics: Hamburg’s WorldTour race traditionally offers opportunities for riders with a strong finishing kick, while the finale also demands positioning, race toughness and full concentration.

The sporting focal point of the race remains the finale in Hamburg. The professional race starts on 16 August in Buxtehude in the district of Stade and leads over 206 kilometres into Hamburg city centre. On the way to the decisive phase, five passages over the Waseberg in Blankenese will shape the finale. The climb, around 700 metres long with a maximum gradient of 16 per cent, is regarded as a key section before the race is decided on Mönckebergstraße.
In 2026, the ADAC Cyclassics Hamburg will once again combine international elite cycling with an outstanding supporting programme for Hamburg and the metropolitan region. In addition to the WorldTour race, the mass-participation formats “The Challenge” over around 110 kilometres and “The Experience” over around 60 kilometres will take centre stage. The routes lead along closed roads through Hamburg and the districts of Pinneberg (The Experience), Stade and Harburg (The Challenge), and also finish on Mönckebergstraße.
